International Erzurum Airport, which was opened in 2005, has one of the longest runways in Turkey and can service 2 million travellers a year and seven planes at the same time. Some charter tours are still organized by five firms, including Turkish Airways. International İstanbul Airport will be used for connections to Erzurum. Related to this subject, Turkish Airways will arrange the hours of indirect flights in accordance with the games; also the games will provide the participants with moderate prices and facilities. In addition, direct flights from Erzurum to Europe’s main airports will be provided by Turkish Airlines and other private airway companies. The Organizing Committee promises that all athletes, delegates and FISU family will come to Erzurum from Istanbul free of charge. Erzurum is a part of an important international railway net. Therefore it is possible to arrive in Istanbul, Ankara and other international arrival points from Erzurum. There are luxurious wagons with a 300-person capacity at the historical Erzurum railway station serving 1000 people everyday.

Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality provides transportation for 100.000 people every day by means of nearly 300 public transport vehicles and over 1000 commercial automobiles. During the period of the games, necessary vehicles will be in service and the municipality has guaranteed satisfactory transportation facilities. Besides, Atatürk University and other institutions have many public transportation vehicles. All of these vehicles can be used in the organization of the Universiade.
